Google Hotel Ads and Free Booking Links: Getting Your Hotel Website Seen
How Google's hotel price list works, the difference between free and paid visibility, the setup you need and the steps for hotels in Antalya.

Google Hotel Ads is the advertising model that shows a hotel's rate in the price list of the hotel panel on Google Search, Google Maps and Google's hotel search page. The same list also contains free booking links. This guide explains how Google decides which hotel prices to show, the difference between free and paid visibility, and what your hotel website needs to appear there with its own rate. It sounds technical, but the idea is simple: when a guest searches for your hotel, your own site should appear with its price next to the OTAs.
How Google shows hotel prices
When a guest searches Google for "Belek hotel" or your hotel's name, they see a list of hotels and a map. Clicking a hotel opens a panel with photos, reviews, location and a prices section. The guest picks dates and Google lists rates from different sites side by side: Booking.com, Expedia, other OTAs and, if connected, the hotel's own website.
Here Google works like a comparison tool (metasearch). It does not take the booking itself; it sends the guest to the site they choose. The hotel's own site is usually marked as the "official site" in the list. That label reassures guests and brings the booking straight to you.
Free booking links and the ads model
There are two types of links in the price list:
| Topic | Free booking links | Google Hotel Ads (paid) |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | No click fee | Needs an ad budget and bidding strategy |
| Placement | In the price list, below the ads | At the top of the list, marked "Sponsored" |
| Managed in | Hotel Center and an integration partner | Google Ads and Hotel Center |
| For | Hotels of any size | Hotels wanting visibility in competitive searches |
The paid side offers different bidding strategies, and Google can change these options over time. Before you launch a campaign, check the current models in Google Ads help pages and with your integration partner. For many hotels, the sensible start is to appear through free links first, measure the result and only then set an ad budget.
What you need
Google Business Profile
Your hotel's listing on Google is the foundation. Address, phone, website, photos and category must be correct, and ownership should sit with you, not a former employee or agency. See our Google Business Profile guide for details.
A Hotel Center account
Hotel Center is the panel where Google manages hotel price data. Your hotel is matched to your Business Profile there, and you can monitor the status of your rate data.
A rate and availability connection
For Google to show your rate, your room rates and availability need to be sent to Google regularly. Most hotels do not build this themselves; it runs through a company that is a Google integration partner, such as your booking engine or channel manager provider. When choosing a provider, always ask whether it can send rates to Google's hotel listings. We added this question to the checklist in our booking engine guide.
A website that takes bookings
When Google sends a guest to your site, they must find the same price on the booking page. Google cares about price accuracy; if the listed price and your site's price keep differing, your visibility can be limited. Consistent totals including taxes and mandatory fees, fast mobile pages and content in the guest's language matter just as much.
Step by step
- Check your Business Profile. Is ownership, address, phone, website link and photos up to date?
- Ask your booking engine provider. Can it send rates to Google, and is there an extra fee?
- Set up the Hotel Center connection. Your partner usually guides you; your hotel must match your Profile.
- Test price accuracy. Compare the rate on Google with the rate on your site for different dates.
- Set up tracking. Measure bookings from Google as a separate source.
- Review the results. Watch bookings from free links for a few months before deciding on an ad budget.
Other comparison channels
Google is not the only metasearch channel. Platforms such as Trivago and Tripadvisor also show rates from different sites side by side and send guests to the site they choose. Appearing there with your own site likewise depends on sending rate data through an integration partner. For most hotels, starting with Google before adding other channels is the more manageable path.
Notes for hotels in Antalya
For a resort in Belek, searches for the hotel's name are valuable. The guest already knows the hotel, and seeing the official site's rate next to the OTAs makes a direct booking more likely. Leaving that search to the OTAs means paying commission you do not need to. We work through the numbers in our article on Booking.com commission.
For a boutique hotel in Kaleiçi, Google Maps matters a lot. A guest already in Antalya, or about to arrive, should see your rate and official site when looking at hotels nearby on the map. In Kemer and Side, remember that Russian and German guests use Google in their own language: the booking page they land on should open in that language too.
Common mistakes
- An old website address left on the Business Profile.
- Google's price and your site's price not matching because of taxes or fees.
- Never asking whether your booking engine connects to Google.
- Sending Google visitors to the homepage instead of the booking step.
- Spending on ads before trying free booking links.
- Not measuring which channel brings bookings.
The website's role
Google Hotel Ads and free booking links bring the guest to your site. What completes the booking is the site's speed, language, trustworthy design and simple booking flow. We do not sell the system that sends rates to Google; we build hotel websites that work with your booking engine and do not lose the guests Google sends. Our approach is on our hotel website page.
Frequently asked questions
What are Google Hotel Ads?
Google Hotel Ads is the paid model that promotes a hotel's rate in the price list on Google Search, Maps and Google's hotel search page. The ads are managed through Google Ads.
What are free booking links?
They are unpaid links shown in Google's hotel price list. Your own website can appear there with its rate; your rates and availability need to be sent to Google for that.
What do I need to send rates to Google?
A Google Business Profile, a Hotel Center account and a connection that sends rate and availability data to Google. That connection is usually set up through an integration partner such as your booking engine or channel manager provider.
Do Google Hotel Ads charge commission?
The paid side offers different bidding strategies, and these options change over time. Check the current models in Google Ads help pages and with your integration partner. Free booking links carry no click fee.
What if the price on my site differs from Google?
Google expects the price shown in the list to match the booking page. Repeated mismatches can limit your visibility. Prices including taxes and mandatory fees need to be consistent.
Can a small boutique hotel appear on Google with its rate?
Yes. Free booking links do not depend on hotel size. An up-to-date Business Profile and a booking engine that can send rates to Google are the basic requirements.
