Alican Akçöl Photography

Alican Akçöl Photography is the personal brand of photographer Alican Akçöl, covering portrait, story and event photography. For a photographer, the website is the portfolio itself, so the goal of this project was a clean showcase that puts the photographs first and takes visitors straight to the work.

Grapyweb built a visual-first corporate website for the brand. Visitors are greeted by a full-screen photo presentation in which large-format portraits fill the screen and text is kept to a minimum. The work is grouped into galleries, and each photo story can be viewed as a whole on its own page. A dedicated section for video content, a short introduction to the photographer and a contact page for shoot enquiries complete the structure.

The key design decisions were to load high-resolution images quickly and to keep the interface consistent and unobtrusive across the whole site. The site's visual design belongs to the photographer himself; the coding, backend infrastructure and launch were handled by Grapyweb. The project first went live at graphyme.com before moving to alicanakcol.com, where the brand still publishes today.
